How RPM Generally Works
Remote patient monitoring (RPM) involves using technology deployed outside healthcare facilities to support long-distance tracking of patients health information. MediRemote is just but one of the tools health institutions are turning to in their quest to broaden their delivery system for patient care services.
Data Collection
This initial process starts with the patient using health monitoring devices. These devices collect sensory data such as a person's blood pressure, heart rate, weight, blood sugar levels, and other parameters. Some of the devices used in the RPM process are; a cellular blood pressure monitor, cellular weight scale, cellular-enabled pulse oximeter, and cellular-enabled glucometer.
Data Transmission
The collected data is then remotely relayed to the respective healthcare institution and accomplished through the use of the internet, text, or phone. Web-based platforms such as MediRemote receive a patient's health data on behalf of the healthcare facility.
Data Analysis
Once the data is received in our cloud-based repository, vitals and other patient biometrics are displayed seamlessly for the physicians to do their analysis on the best course of action required. MediRemote real-time health tracking feature accessible through our web dashboard is automated to alert the healthcare team if any concerns arise.
Taking Action
The patient's medical team or emergency responders are alerted to potential interventions needed for the patient's health and wellness based on their healthcare data. They then provide advice on the best possible assistance required in such an event.
